FROM BIG-BRAND, TO YOUR BRAND
The FOOD MEDIA team has a long background in big-brand, major agency branding for food manufacturers and national/international food retailers. With a history of work for Wendy's, Olive Garden, Tropicana, Ground Round, Miller Beer, and others, we are a team that understands how to build a brand in the food arena.
As we have moved into the local and mid-sized food manufacturing markets, we have brought this big-brand experience with us. Adapting it along the way to your needs.
Lance Evans – Creative Director
With over 25 years in advertising, Lance has been on staff at the world's top agencies including J. Walter Thompson, Jerry Della Femina and Bates Worldwide. He honed his craft working directly with each agency's Creative Director, on accounts like Tiffany, American Express, T. Row Price, Merck, Pfizer, and many media and luxury accounts.
As a creative, his photography has been internationally published in magazines and books, used in advertising campaigns, hung in galleries and museums, and written up by The New York Times, Art in America and interviewed on NBC-TV. Early in his career he studied still life food photography with NY's top shooters, and later worked for the internationally famous food and still life photographer Hashi.
His expertise in the food market extends to having studied food prep himself at the Kushi Institute of Massachusetts. And as a former owner of a Chelsea nightclub/bar. He brings this background and understanding to his work today in the food industry.
Food clients have included a wide range of big brand restaurant and beverage companies. He has provided extensive advertising, marketing and creative work for clients such as Miller Brewing, Dunkin' Donuts, The Olive Garden, Riese Restaurants and Charlie O's, Absolut Vodka, Tropicana and more.
Ben Colarossi – Senior Creative Consultant
We are fortunate to have this legendary adman working with us for over 5 years. Winner of so many CLIO awards he lost count, Ad Age Magazine called him “Man of a Thousand Slogans”, and said “Ben inspired the greatest ad lines of our time, including 'Where's The Beef', Timex 'Takes a Licking and keeps on ticking', and “AJAX, Stronger than Dirt!”.
Revlon founder Charles Revson said “We [Revlon] owe it all to that creative Italian art director, Colarossi.” Ben has held the titles of Worldwide Senior Creative Director and Managing Partner at Ketchum, McCann Erickson, Lintas, Ted Bates, and his own Creamer/Colarossi.
His food accounts have included Wendy's, The Ground Round/Howard Johnson's, Lipton, Coca-Cola, Cadbury-Schweppes, Pizza Hut, Evian, Sizzler, Seagrams, Pepsi, San Georgio Pasta, Nabisco, and Gallo Wines. He is the man behind both Wendy's “Old Fashioned Hamburgers” and “Where's the Beef?” for Wendy's, and San Georgio Pasta's “Nobody Grows Spaghetti Like San Georgio”.
Van Seplow – Senior Marketing Consultant
Van has enjoyed decades of success on the NY business scene in both broadcasting and Real Estate. This has shifted to product marketing and sales, working with and selling food products to major chains including Gristede's (working directly with Mr. Catsimatides), Food Town, Dollar Tree, TJ Max, Big Lots, Ross Stores, Burlington Coat Factory, Ollie's Outlets, Christmas Tree Shops, and others domestically and overseas.
Van has taken many smaller brands and shepherded them to large volume sales. He has done this with larger brands like Bumblebee Tuna as well (ask him to tell you his tuna joke!). His work in the food industry has included a wide range of both packaged and perishables product lines. Speak with him about ways to move your brand forward, and learn how Food Media can be of help.
Be forewarned: He's want to see you take your best products national!
